Podcasting on the go with Audioboo

After reading a Twitter update from Neville Hobson about Audioboo I started to play around with it 2 weeks ago...
Today I must admit that this little application opens up a whole new world of podcasting possibilities for me.
Audioboo is basically an iPhone application that allows you to record audio on your phone wherever you are. But it doesn't stop there...
The application also provides a way to upload the audio file directly to your home page on Audioboo, gives you an RSS feed and from there... well everything is possible when it comes down to content syndication.
I use it to record "thoughts on the go" but it can very well be used to record interviews for instance.
You could do an interview, check the quality and upload and publish it directly there and then. The file will be published directly, with a player and an iTunes version as well.
The whole recording & publishing thing is very, very easy and with a Mobile Vikings account (I still have invites) it is as good as costless in Belgium, if you already own an iPhone.
I just purchased a small plug-in microphone for my iPhone but the quality is already very good. You can find the free application in the iTunes store here.
The Audioboo website has just been reworked and offers a good collection of Audioboos from all over the world. Mine will be featured on the blog here, in the right column and will be updated automatically by my RSS feed.
