First of all a big thank you for being a reader of Conversationblog.com...

I will do my best to bring you new insights on public relations, social media communications and crisis communications in 2012 as well.

This year has been great at Van Marcke Group; the launch of a new intranet, the roll out of a full scale internal social media platform, first steps into online video, QR codes and a social media enhanced newsroom in the works...

Several universities and schools allowed me to share my experience with the next generation of communications professionals this year, something I love to do and I always learn from.

Also a big thank you to my private clients who trusted my advise and allowed me to help them with their challenges and projects.

On the personal side, my wife and I where lucky enough to see more of our little globe and had some fantastic travel adventures and encounters with great people. Our house also became (finally) a home and we're really enjoying it.

I wish you all the best for the next year; enjoy quality time with your families and take care of each other !

Kind regards, Philippe Borremans.

Just launched: The Emergency 2.0 Wiki

Ever wanted to have a free resource where all the best information on the use of social media for emergency situations was collected, edited and provided online ?

Well, I am very proud to be part of this group of volunteers who did just that; the Emergency 2.0 Wiki just launched globally.

The Emergency 2.0 Wiki is a free global resource available to all through the ongoing input of professionals from across all industry sectors.

This new collaborative model aims to facilitate global sharing and advancing knowledge on utilising web2.0 and social media in emergency management.

It is a voluntary initiative of the Gov 2.0 QLD Community of Practice. Its impetus was to leverage the learnings from the use of social media during the devastating floods and Cyclone Yasi that swept across Queensland early in 2011.

You can find the official press release here and please do share this valuable resource !

Comment and submissions are very much welcome. You can also follow us on Twitter of course.

Short Survey (2 questions) - Features of a Dark Site

I just launched a very short survey on the needed features and content for a Dark Site.
