Conference Update: where I'll be and what I have to miss.

Here is an overview of conferences on the agenda:

The European Communication Summit

EACD (European Association of Communications Directors)'s first European conference on June 11 and 12 in Brussels.

euflag.jpgAn incredible program and some very interesting topics to discuss. I will be sharing a panel with the title "Owned by everyone, controlled by no-one: web 2.0 and the internet revolution". On this specific panel I will be joined by Bart Becks, Sr. VP New Media at SBS, Dorothee Burkel, VP Marketing & Communications AOL, Guy Nielsen, Sr. VP. Corporate Comms. Aegon and the discussion will be moderated by Aaron Patrick, Media correspondent of the Wall Street Journal. I will be speaking as European New Media Lead for IBM.

Full program and registration details here.

Blogging: Challenge & Consequences - a debate

This is a debate organized by the Belgian PR Center, the Belgian PR Consultant Association and the Belgian Association of IT Reporters and will take place on the 19th of April at the Belgacom Towers in Brussels.

I have been asked to moderate the debate and think I'll have a though job... Speakers are: Dominique Deckmyn, Editor in Chief of IT Professional, Peter Vandenberghe, Internet pioneer, Bruno Segers, MD of All Together, Olivier De Doncker, Communications Manager Emakina, Peter Vandermeersch, Editor in Chief of the Corelio newspapers and Stef Knaepkens, CEO of Kite Consultants.

Meeting of Minds: the user is the content.

This great conference on April 26/27 in Antwerp is about social media and the content we all generate. Great speakers and a 2 day long program with interactive sessions. I would have loved to be there but can not make it... Some people who will be present are: Clo Willaerts (Marketing & Communication manager Skynet, Blogger), Paul Gerhardt (Project Director, BBC Creative Archive), Bob Young (Lulu.com), Loïc Le Meur (http://loiclemeur.com/) and many others.

More info and FREE registration here.

Unfortunately on the same dates, I have other engagements I can not reschedule...

But then again, on Friday the 27th in the evening I'll probably meet up with Adriana, JP Rangaswami, Doc Searls and Ben Laurie. Company I can't refuse...

By the way, they are all here in Brussels for yet another conference: the Identity Open Space conference.
