Best of the Blogs Awards 2006 closes this sunday

The BOB (Best of the Blogs) awards organized by Deutsche Welle are closing submissions this Sunday

I just submitted my own blog... just out of curiosity. (Not even sure it will get listed but if it does I'll post a request for support...;-)

More importantly the organization Reporters Without Borders is also sponsoring a category defending press freedom and they would like us all to suggest blogs that cover this topic from all over the world.

Presented in cooperation with Reporters Without Borders, this award will go to a Weblog that takes a strong stance for freedom of information all over the world.

According to their latest update, 132 reporters and 57 "cyber dissidents" are imprisoned around the world...

I think we have all a responsibility here to do something about this situation. In any case they have my support and I am signing up as a member this weekend.
