New Orleans blog post - out of control.

I had one full month of holidays and must admit that I haven't checked my RSS alerts on Klipfolio for some time.

So I missed this incredible article on the situation in New Orleans in the US. I supported the relief efforts at the time and thought it was incredible that a country couldn't help its citizens in a well prepared way... But this is unbelievable. Horror stories months later, police control out of hand, no law and order whatsoever.

But in this case, as during the Tsunami in Asia, technology and humans that care make the difference and get the story out. I do hope that the stories that independent reporters will make on the topic will get the attention they deserve over here too.

Philippe, thanks for keeping NO in the forefront of your reader's minds. While I cannot confirm the situation in the "Katrina camps", the situation for many here is quite bleak and frustrations are mounting. Check out this week's article from Time on how "New Orleans may be in the midst of a serious breakdown, both among residents and the health care system needed to treat them" http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1221982,00.html?cnn=yes
