From RSS feed to e-mail Newsletters: Zookoda

A couple of days ago I discovered Zookoda in a (great) list of tools for bloggers posted on Problogger by Darren Rowse.

Zookoda allows you to create and send e-mail newsletters, have a database of subscribers, create real time reports about your subscribers, schedule broadcasts etc... In a way this is a complete e-mail marketing application.

Nothing special you would say, these have been around for years... Well this one is based on your RSS feed and was created specifically for bloggers.

It starts out as a "subscribe by e-mail" from Feedburner but does a whole lot more for the same price...free. As you can see on your right, I have changed my subscription button for people who want my content by e-mail and am now waiting for the first subscribers so I can see this great tool at work.

Set up was very intuitive and easy. I tested it with my own e-mail address and received the RSS update in a nice HTML format (and text too). You can pick the templates yourself or create your own to reflect the look and feel of your blog.

Zookoda supports most RSS versions, Atom 1.0/2.0 and OPML.

Tools like these have a future... Most people have no clue what RSS is but are used to subscribe to e-mail newsletters/updates.
