May 3: World Press Freedom Day

vignettearrested.jpgTomorrow, May 3, will be World Press Freedom Day.

The theme of the day will be "Don't lock up information: stop jailing journalists!". The World Association of Newspapers set up a site asking everyone to support this cause and make some noise tomorrow. You can use photos, texts, cartoons and other media to show support. You can even send a protest letter from their website.

As a PR professional and a blogger, I am a defender of freedom of the press and information. I strongly believe that the PR profession should support this day with all it's weight and make a difference for the reporters behind bars.

Check out the "to the point" video clips made by several people involved with the WAN. "What if we never knew ?" tells it all....
