Here is an update of the speakers that will present their papers at the first European conference of the International Association of Online Communicators in Brussels on June 15 and 16 which I'll be hosting at IBM.
- An Analysis of the Usability of Corporate Online Media Rooms by Dr. Lynn Zoch and Dustin Supa, School of Communication, University of Miami
- Managing the Online Crisis: How Public Relations Practitioners Target Weblogs and Wikis, by Marcus Messner and Marcia Watson, Ph.D. Student, University of Miami, School of Communication
- An Assessment of Factors Affecting Dropout of Students Enrolled in the University of Tennessee Online New College Bachelor's Degree Program, by Jeff Hoyer, Associate Professor, Department of Communications, The University of Tennessee
- Opportunities and Limitations of Weblogs: Views of PR and Journalism Students of Istanbul University by Serra Gorpe, Ebru Ulusoy, Istanbul University, School of Communication
- International Distance Courses with Videoconferencing: Designs, Benefits and Challenges by Kevin Lee, CTD Department, Western Carolina University
- World-class PR Measurement That Will Make Your CFO Smile by Andrew Muir, Managing Director, Vocus Europe Ltd
- The Changing Role of the Press Release by Rod Nicolson, VP of Online Services, PR Newswire
The keynote session will be presented by Neville Hobson and Shel Holtz, hosts of the For Immediate Release podcast and both experienced communicators and bloggers. Shel will be with us virtualy from the US, Neville will be in Brussels at the conference.
The panel debate will be around the topic of "PR, Media and the Blogosphere".
Guillaume Du Gardier, Director Online Communications Europe at Edelman has confirmed his presence and I also invited someone from Reporters Without Borders. This will not be the "PR against Media" debate (I hope) but I would like to see how blogging and new media are helping both to do their job better (or worse).
More speakers will be added soon but this is the "almost" complete list of guests you will be able to meet at the IAOC conference in Brussels. The conference presentations will happen in small groups and attendees will walk from on presentation to the other. This set up will give you a more personal interaction with the speaker and allow to get the most out of the conference. You can register here.
I would like to ask everyone who reads this blog to help us promote the conference. It is our first one in Europe - you can see how the US conference went here - and we would like to make this a gathering point for all the online communicators out there. Don't hesitate to "steal" the image and link to http://www.onlinecommunicators.org/Seminars/index.cfm
Thanks for your support and I am looking forward to meet you in Brussels this summer.

Cheers,
Matt
They will most probably be posted on the brand new website and blog of the IAOC (to be launched soon). I'll do some podcasts too.
Matt,
Thanks for the promo, we do need attendees for our speakers.. ;-)
I posted a link to the conference on my blog's sidebar (if anyone wants a logo that's smaller than the official one, please feel free to use this: http://blog.basturea.com/images/iaoc-conference.gif )
