When technology moves too fast...

I hate it when technologies that used to be "in synch" suddenly don't talk to each other anymore because on of the two upgraded. This just happened to me when my Sony Ericsson P910 phone refused to synchronise my Lotus Notes 7 agenda.

sonyp910pc.jpgFor someone like me (head in the clouds, but I like it up there) this is a disaster... Why is it that a simple upgrade to a higher version of Lotus Notes is scrambling the sync software of my "smartphone" ? I called Sony Ericsson client support and all they had to tell me was that I had to wait for the next "upgraded" version of their sync. software... No idea however when that would be released.

Knowing that I am not the only one using this set up to synchronise agendas I am sure to hear about this through the blogosphere soon... or not ?

If someone should read this and has a solution, please let me know ! I don't want to turn up late at every other meeting for the next couple of months...

Hi Philippe, It was nice to meet you finally at Blogging4business yesterday. I have a Sony Ericsson P900 and have had similar issues - it wouldn't sync with Eudora, so I moved to Outlook 2003, but it syncs in the most messy way possible, duplicating contacts, refusing to find contacts because of quixotic formatting issues - an inverted comma can throw it off. The thing is a nuisance. I read in one of the unofficial support forums that Market Sentinel tracks that the sync function was "outsourced" - that's the best explanation I have found. It means I will be looking elsewhere when I upgrade my phone. All the best Mark
