2 day Blog and RSS Workshop in Geneva

big-swiss-flag.jpgAILIS, the Association of International Librarians in Geneva has asked me to give a full day workshop on blogging and RSS for their members. In fact I'll be there 2 days, one workshop will be given in English and the next day I'll give one in French.

I am excited about this mission. This will be my first international assignment and a good way to learn how librarians and information workers are perceiving the blogosphere and new media. And... the workshops will take place on 22 and 23 June. The last day is my birthday, I think that's a good sign.

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for your comment. You have a nice personal blog. And although I am not religious it is very inspiring.

Advice... Well it all depends what you want to do with your blog. If you are keeping it on a personal level I wouldn't change anything (except for the RSS thing - see below). A blog is an expression of yourself so do as you think/feel you need to. One thing though... As a visitor I would like to have the choice to start the music clip you have on there. It starts automatically now and I had to click several times to stop it from playing.

RSS: well, I would suggest you have a look here http://www.nooked.com/news/education.do for a good, down to earth explanation. In short it will allow your content to be syndicated (distributed) automatically over the web. That way people can keep updated with your new content without having to check your blog every day.

For more info you can also download the free whitepaper on my blog (see right column)

If I can help further, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
