2 Generations of Jazz

Yesterday evening I saw one of the best concerts I have ever seen: Jamie Cullum live at Forest National. Why ? Not only because this young man is a Jazz genius but even more so because he and his band give themselves 200% during a 3 hour concert...

He is humble, he is like "the guy next doors" and he is "true" when he is there on stage, slapping his piano or singing a cappella in the midst of the public.

The best moment was when he told us he had a surprise....

Toots Thielemans (84), our national Jazz hero, came on stage and started jamming with young Jamie (27).

There I was, witnessing 2 generations of top Jazz talent, getting along like grandfather and son, playing amazingly beautiful duets and improvising like only Jazz men can. A moment never to forget.

Proof that music binds us all and that some rhythms are universal.
